GWOPA / UNW DPC _ Regional Workshop on “Capacity Development, Water Operators’ Partnerships and Financing for Non-revenue Water Management” for Central Asian countries | Dushanbe, Tajikistan | 2014 | 07/07/2014 - 10/07/2014 | GWOPA / UNW DPC | Problems of drinking water supply of the capital of Georgia | oral | - The company that I represented has an extremely strategic, vital function - supplying the capital with drinking water, which in turn requires great responsibility and high reliability.
- The high efficiency and economic profitability of the water industry is also of great importance, since these factors affect the tariff and, accordingly, the social condition of the population.
- The main criterion for the efficiency of the water supply system and high productivity is the reduction of water losses. In this regard, in addition to the efforts of water companies, the government also uses incentives for companies. Specifically, the GNERK establishes the allowable amount of drinking water losses, which will be provided for in the tariff. In order to improve the efficiency of the water supply system, the Commission is authorized to use various acceptable forms of incentives, including the savings resulting from the reduction of water losses, to be left at the disposal of the company. To this end, an annual water loss reduction program should be submitted to the Commission.
- Despite this, so far, Georgia's water supply systems are characterized by high losses. Accordingly, the most important task in the system and network of water supply companies is to minimize losses of a technical nature.

Populations of the Georgian flora species - Galanthus woronowii (Galanthus woronowii) were identified; This species is of high medicinal and ornamental importance. Protecting them from overexploitation. At the same time, this population is the largest of the populations in Eastern Georgia, and it is located on the periphery of this species, which increases the importance of its scientific study and gives it the status of an object of high conservation value. | |

Their intensity had especially increased after construction of Zhinvali reservoir. Activation of accumulative processes in the reservoir is the response to that. Taking into account the fact that the reservoir is the key facility for drinking water supply of the capital with 1,5 million population and at the same time electricity generation source, the important issue is increase of volume of accumulated run-off in it and determination of intensity of accumulation process.

Scientific Conference “Actual Problems of Geography” – Dedicated to prof. David Ukleba’s 100th anniversary | Tbilisi, Georgia | 2019 | 07/11/2019 - 08/11/2019 | TSU / IG | The Zonal Regularities of Differential Water Balance | oral | It is known that the altitudinal regularitys of the water balance`s elements in the mountainous regions has the local character, since these connections, except for the altitudinal gradients of climatic elements, are subject to a number of risky azonal factors such as mountain slopes exposure, their position in relation to the prevailing air masses, vertical extension of the basin, geological structure that determines the underground water- nutritional component and so forth. The territory of Georgia is well studied in terms of these links. Less commonly is researched the general regularities for typical natural zones and landscape belts. Besides the theoretical value, identification of these regularities is important for the practical application, since it will facilitate the determination of 6-component water balance parameters for hydrologically and climatically un-explored or less-explored areas.
