Sensory electronics and materials science science-technological center was founded on November 8, 1991 by at that time Ministry of Georgian Science and Technology based on the act #33 of November 23. The main scientific research fields of the center are:
1. Materials science:
1.1. High Temperature Materials: we are developing and studying materials for the application in the extreme temperature environments. The experimental research has been conducted in the center for the last 10 years very intensively. The relevant group in the center is working with different compositions of metals and alloys to develop the optimal high temperature resistant properties of materials through an improvement of their microstructure, composition and pretreatment. We are actively collaborating with international colleagues from different countries and actively participate in national as well as international scientific research projects. Our publications within this topic can be found elsewhere based on the experimental results we have obtained in the laboratory scale. The presentations are given regularly at the international scientific events by the researchers of the center involved in the high temperature materials research.
1.2. High Temperature Superconducting Materials: the research in this field has been initiated from 2000. The obtained results have been published in different international periodicals. Our scientists have always been actively involved in the international research projects and collaborate with many internationally renowned scientists and their labs in the field.

2. Robotics and sensory technologies:
2.1. The remotely operated robots of the specific purpose: this is one of the research fields of the center where we are developing and improving the equipments of the robots and their functions. There takes place an development of the sensors and their integration in systematic programs. Also, we are improving the working parameters of the “water cannon” that has been developed in our center the knowhow of which belongs to us. At the moment we are in a discussion stage with different entities regarding implementation of our robot into the practical application.
