In 1954, I entered Digomi High School, which I completed in 1964. In the same year I enrolled at the Faculty of Technology of the Georgian Agricultural Institute, graduating with honors in 1970 and being awarded the qualification of an engineer-technologist specializing in winemaking.
In 1964 I started working in the experimental wine factory of the Scientific Research Institute of Horticulture, Viticulture and Enology of Georgia. In 1967 I was transferred to the Biochemistry Laboratory of the Wine Department of the same institute as a laboratory assistant. In 1970 he became a senior laboratory assistant. In 1971 I was taken to the same department as a researcher and approved of a qualification topic under the guidance of Professor Abdro Lashkhi.
In 1978 I defended my dissertation and was awarded the title of Candidate of Technical Sciences. In the same year I was transferred to the position of a junior and in 1982 a senior researcher in the same laboratory. In 1984, I was approved for a doctoral dissertation, which I defended on February 25, 2000, and was awarded a Doctor of Technical Sciences degree. In 1994, I held the position of Chromatographic Research Sector, and from 2006 until the end of the Institute, I held the position of Head of the Department of Wine and Biochemistry.
From 1984 to 1996 I was invited to give lectures at the position of Associate Professor at the Department of Wine Factory Equipment of the Georgian Agricultural Institute.
In 1975-80 I was the Secretary of the Communist Party of the Institute, and in 1980-88 the Secretary of the Sectoral Partnership.
Since 1972, I have published more than 300 scientific papers in both local and international high-profile publications. I have participated and continue to participate in international scientific conferences. I have published 12 monographs and textbooks. I am the owner of 8 copyright patents.
From 2002 to 2007, I was the Chairman of the Qualifying Council for the Scientific Degree at the Scientific Research Institute of Horticulture, Viticulture and Enology.
Since 2007 I have been a professor at the Faculty of Agrarian Sciences of Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University, I am leading a doctoral program in food technology and I teach various subjects in the field of winemaking.
Under my supervision are defended: more than 15 dissertations for the degree of Candidate and Academic Doctor and 2 doctoral dissertations; I am currently pursuing master's and doctoral dissertations in the production of alcoholic and non-alcoholic products at various universities.
