Georgia is mountainous country with complex relief and variety of climatic zones. The country is prone to all kinds of dangerous hydrometeorological disasters and it is important is to investigate processes causing those catastrophic events using in-situ meteorological observation and satellite data. This became possible after launch of Earth Observing System program that provides huge new data which allows reanalyzing those physical processes. The wind is one of most important meteorological parameter used both in science and energetic industry. However its origin and nature isn’t well understood yet. Wind direction and value in atmosphere surface layer is depending on local geographic conditions and thus it is manifold. The structured 1991-2021 ground observation data of Georgian Environmental Agency and the Earth Observing System Satellite data are used to conduct statistical analysis in order to study wind parameters variability. The correlations between geomagnetic storms and wind velocity variation have been determined for Georgian region using meteorological observation and NASA’s Solar Dynamics Observatory and NOAA Space Weather Prediction Centre data. The results show that there exist dependence between wind velocity variation and atmosphere perturbations caused from geo-magnetic storms. New approaches have been suggested to explain obtained results. The study outcomes may be used in further studies, in renewable energetic sector development and considered in early warning systems too.

The applicability of Big Data techniques is significantly enhanced by the novel tools that support data collection and integration. The interoperability of the systems can be improved by data warehouses and the related ETL (extract, transform, and load) functionalities that can also be used to gather information from multiple models and data sources. Artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) are also the key technologies of big data analysis. Analysis of Big Data combines traditional methods of statistical analysis with computational approaches. The significance of Big Data in climate-related studies is greatly recognized and its techniques are widely used to observe and monitor changes on the global scale. Climate computing combines multidisciplinary researches regarding climatic data and system sciences to efficiently capture and analyze climate-related Big Data as well as to support socio-environmental efforts. In presented paper Structured Data is used. Understanding of the natural environment is increasingly important to respond to the climate change negative impacts and anthropogenic pressures on finite natural resources.
