International Scientific-Practical Conference “Natural Resources of georgia and Prospects of Sustainable Development of Productive Forces” dedicated to the 100th Anniversary of the GTU and the 90th Anniversary of Academician I.ZhordaniaTbilisi, Georgia202117 ნოემბერიI.Zhordania Center Studying Productive Forces and Natural Resources of Georgia of the Georgian Technical UniversityProspects of rural tourism development in Georgiaoral

The conference paper analyzes prospects of the development of small tourism business in Georgia, in particular in rural settlements – sp-called "rural tourism" (agritourism, farming tourism) which is a fast emerging sector of small entrepreneurship.

Capabilities and conditions fro the development of rural tourism are examined for different regions of Georgia. As it is noted, there are distinguishing characteristics in each region (natural environment, economic level, traditions of economic management, rules for family farm arrangement, rituals and customs, etc.) which differ regions from each other.

Careful consideration is given to the objects which are of interest for agritourists in rural settlements in Georgian regions: Kakheti, mountainous area of Georgia (Svaneti, Racha-Lechkhumi, Mtskheta-Mtianeti), Achara, Guria, Samegrelo, Imereti, Shida and Kvemo Kartli, as well as to the issues of readiness for their acceptance.

It is emphasized in the conference paper that the development of rural tourism in the country will promote economic growth in the regions, ensure employment of local people, improve their well-being, and, what is most crucially for mountainous regions, solve pressing demographic problems (depopulation of village, ageing of population, young people's migration to urban areas, etc.).

International Scientific-Practical Conference “Natural Resources of georgia and Prospects of Sustainable Development of Productive Forces” dedicated to the 100th Anniversary of the GTU and the 90th Anniversary of Academician I.ZhordaniaTbilisi, Georgia202117 ნოემბერიI.Zhordania Center Studying Productive Forces and Natural Resources of Georgia of the Georgian Technical UniversityThe role of Georgian recreation resources in post-COVID rehabilitation process oral

The conference paper analyzes potential of Georgian recreational resources in the process of rehabilitation for people who had COVID-19.

Under the conditions of pandemic, an increasing number of people who had COVID-19, experience various complications and cannot return to their normal lives. Up to 50 percent those recovering from COVID-19 have health problems of different kinds the whole set of which has been integrated into a "Post-COVID-19" syndrome (or "Long COVID") to become a subject of research for medical professionals and scientists in different countries. At present, there are no elaborated recommendations on diagnostics and treatment of post-COVID-19 syndrome in any country, and the physicians recommend to people with such a syndrome to follow the common principles of rehabilitation after severe diseases. It is evident that the stay at the health-resorts of applicable profiles with the use of natural recreational factors and health-improving procedures will hasten and optimize the process of rehabilitation. The authors show a great potential of Georgian natural-recreational resources for the rehabilitation of post-COVID patients. The conference paper contains information concerning rehabilitative opportunities of famous Georgian health-resorts taking into account their specific features as well as pathologies common to the post-COVID patients.

International Scientific-Technical Conference "Information Society and Technologies for Intensification of Education - ISITE’18“ (dedicated to the 15th anniversary of the UNESCO Chair "Information Society" of GTU).Tbilisi, Georgia201827-29 სექტემბერიGeorgian Technical UniversityGlobal challenges and UNESCO’s activitiesoral

Recent advances in scientific and technological area, the appearance of revolutionary IT and communications technologies have fundamentally changed people's life all over the world. These profound changes have not only produced positive results, but also triggered serious, sometimes highly dangerous challenges which need quick social response on global scale.

It is emphasized in the conference paper that progress in science and technology without humanitarian components carries insoluble contradictions for human culture, is a main source of global ecological, political and other catastrophes. Technological shift took place within a short space of time, in ethical vacuum, in the absence of adequate axiological base, was not accompanied by necessary philosophic-worldview support. As we can see, disregard of ethical norms often becomes a trigger of inhumane actions, crimes against humanity.

Under such circumstances, the role of authoritative international organizations whose activities take place within a wide scope of areas, in the first place UNESCO, significantly increases, since they can greatly contribute to civilizational development by adding humanistic dimension. The authors of conference paper invite to launch the implementation of new directions within acting programmes under the aegis of UNESCO and propose some specific topics.
