We consider a system of differential equations of Pfaffian type Df = ω on a Riemann surface and develop for it an analog of the monodromy theory of Fuchsian systems of differential equations. Namely, let X be a compact Riemann surface and G a compact Lie group. Let f0 be a solution of system (1) in a neighborhood U ⊂ X of the point z0. After continuation of f0 along a path circling around a singular point zi system (1) determines a monodromy representation ρ : π1(X \ S, z0) → GC. For such system, it is possible to formulate Riemann-Hilbert monodromy problem as follows: whether, for a given homomorphism: ρ : π1(X \ S) → G, there exists a G-system monodromy of which coincides with ρ. It is known that solution of this problem depends on group G. The following theorem holds. Theorem. 1) If π1(M) is a free group and GC is connected, then ρ is a monodromy homomorphism for a system (1). 2) If π1(M) is a free abelian group and G is a connected compact Lie group with torsion free cohomology, and if Imρ ⊂ G, then ρ is a monodromy homomorphism for some system of type (1). Above theorem is a solution of the Riemann-Hilbert problem for holomorphic systems of type Df = ω

Factorisation of matrix functions: New techniques and applicationsCambridge, UK201912-08-19Cambridge UniversityOn the partial indices of piecewise matrix functions oral

Every holomorphic vector bundle   on Riemann sphere splits into the direct sum of line bundles and the total Chern number of this vector bundle is equal to sum of Chern numbers of line bundles. The integer-valued vector with components Chern number of line bundles is called splitting type of holomorphic vector bundle and is analytic invariant of complex vector bundles.

There exists a one-to-one correspondence between the H\”older continues matrix function and the holomorphic vector bundles described above, wherein the splitting type of vector bundles coincides with partial indices of matrix functions. It is known that every holomorphic vector bundle equipped with meromorphic (in general) connection with logarithmic singularities at finite set of marked points and corresponding meromorphic 1-from have first order poles in marked points and removable singularity at infinity.

The Fucshian system of equations induced from this 1-form gives the monodromy representation of the fundamental group of Riemann sphere without marked points. The monodromy representation induces trivial holomorphic vector bundles with connection. The extension of the pair (\texttt{bundle, connection}) on the Riemann sphere is not unique and defines a family of holomorphically nontrivial vector bundles.

In the talk we present about the following statements:

1. From the solvability condition (in the sense Galois differential theory) of the Fuchsian   system follows formula for computation of partial indices of piecewise constant matrix function.

2. All extensions of vector bundle on noncompact Riemann surface correspond to   rational matrix functions algorithmically computable by monodromy matrices of Fucshian system.

The solutions of the problem of linear conjugation in a closed form, solving a system of singular integral equations in quadratures, determining the splitting type of holomorphic vector bundle on the Riemann sphere is reduced on the computation of the partial indices of matrix-functions of Holder class on the unit circle. From the solutions of one of listed problems the solution of others follows. On the other hand, the linear conjugation problem for piecewise constant matrix functions reduces to monodromic Riemann-Hilbert problem for the class of regular systems of differential equations. Recently, an algorithm for solving the linear conjugation problem for piecewise constant boundary matrix functions and an algorithm for calculation splitting type of holomorphic vector bundle induced from Fuchsian system of differential equations on the Riemann sphere has been proposed. In the talk, we give an algorithm that permit for any set of marked points on the Riemann sphere and for any quadratic matrices constructed a rational matrix function, the set of singular points of which is contained in the set of marked points and the left partial indices of this matrix function coincide with splitting type of the holomorphic vector bundle induced from corresponding Fuchsian system.

We discuss equilibrium configurations of the Coulomb potential of positive point charges with positions satisfying certain quadratic constraints in the plane and three-dimensional Euclidean space. The main attention is given to the case of three point charges satisfying a positive definite quadratic constraint in the form of equality or inequality. For a triple of points on the boundary of convex domain, we give a geometric criterion of the existence of positive point charges for which the given triple is an equilibrium configuration. Using this criterion, rather comprehensive results are obtained for three positive charges in the disc, ellipse, and three-dimensional ball. In the case of the circle, we strengthen these results by showing that any configuration consisting of an odd number of points on the circle can be realized as an equilibrium configuration of certain nonzero point charges and give a simple criterion for existence of positive charges with this property. Similar results are obtained for three point charges each of which belongs to one of the three concentric circles. Several related problems and possible generalizations are also discussed.

We discuss the possibility of stabilizing a given conguration of point charges in convex planar domain D using the electrostatic potential of point charges placed on the boundary B of D. An algebraic approach to this problem will be described and illustrated by typical results of three types. First, we prove that, for any nite conguration X of points in D, there exists a system S of charges on B such that all points of X are critical points of the electrostatic potential of S. Second, a similar result will be established in the case where X consists of equal point charges and one considers the total electrostatic potential of all charges in X and S. Finally, we will present some situations where the arising equilibrium conguration is stable with respect to small displacements of any charge considered. In conclusion we will indicate possible applications of our approach to constructions of abstract analogs of Paul electromagnetic traps and perspectives of using computer algebra for calculating the values and positions of stabilizing charges in concrete situations.

The Riemann-Hilbert monodromy problem (21st Hilbert problem) is to construct the Fuchsian system by the marked points and given non-degenerate matrices for which the marked points will be poles of system and the monodromy matrices coincide with given matrices. The Riemann-Hilbert boundary value problem (the problem of linear conjugation) was posed by Riemann in the same work as one of the methods of the solution of the monodromy problem. Notwithstanding the fact that the problem of linear conjugation is studied for the generalized analytic functions (vectors) and the progress achieved in research of singular elliptic systems, the connection between RiemannHilbert problem with singular elliptic systems and problem of linear conjugation for the generalized analytic functions was not noted until now. We consider the analogous problems and apply the methods of algebraic topology. The analog of Fuchsian system in our approach will be Carleman-Bers-Vekua system with sindular points. Research object will be the space of multiplevalued solutions, the analog of the monodromy theorem, Chen iterated integral,Riemann-Roch theorem and Riemann-Hurwitz formula.

Monodromic quantum computing, Trends in quantum computing research, 2006, pp.1-36, Nova Science Publishers, Inc.State Target Program

Here we consider a new model of the quantum computation, based on the monodromy representation of a Fuchsian system. The leading theme is the problem of construction of a set of universal gates as monodromy operators induced from a connection with logarithmic singularity. Differential-geometric concept of connection is interpreted by us as a gauge potential, and it is proved that this gauge potential is induced from the Hamiltonian of a Schr¨odinger type equation. In the formal scheme developed by us can be incorporated already known models—topological and holonomic.

In the book, the quantum theory of computing is discussed as an effective model for solving complex problems. A classical and quantum description of the computing process is given, for which the corresponding mathematical and physical apparatus is developed. A model of a quantum calculator is built and one of its possible physical realizations is indicated.

The book is concerned with the geometric theory of computation. We have in mind the known paradigm according to which the computation is the combination of an algorithm and a computation process. The latter process is performed by some dynamical system. If for the description of the computing dynamical system a configuration space with nontrivial geometry or topology is chosen, one can talk about the geometric character of the computation. The book examines the known holonomic and topological models of quantum computation and the new monodromic model of quantum computation is discussed in detail.

In this work, a gauge approach to quantum computing is considered. It is assumed that there exists a classical procedure for placing certain classical system in a state described by a holomorphic vector bundle with connection with logarithmic singularities. This bundle and its connection are constructed with the aid of unitary operators realizing the given algorithm using methods of the monodromic Riemann–Hilbert problem. Universality is understood in the sense that for any collection of unitary matrices there exists a connection with logarithmic singularities whose monodromy representation involves these matrices.

For holomorphic principal bundles on Riemann surfaces their holomorphic type is introduced as a vector of integers, and it is shown that the sum of its components equals the characteristic number of the bundle. In this paper, we consider the current status of the Riemann–Hilbert problem and problems closely related to it. In the global theory of differential equations with regular singular points, the Riemann– Hilbert problem is one of the central topics. Two-dimensional models in contemporary theoretical physics use fundamental facts of the theory of Riemann surfaces. One of the central problems of this theory is the Riemann–Hilbert problem and questions related to it, for example, the linear conjugation problem. A natural language for the investigation of the Riemann–Hilbert problem is the language of holomorphic bundles with connections on Riemann surfaces. It makes clear the relationship with the linear conjugation problem, which is usually considered for H¨older-class functions. We develop a different approach; namely, we consider the Riemann–Hilbert problem for the Carleman– Bers–Vekua system, replacing the Wiener–Hopf factorization of a matrix-valued function by the Φ-factorization. To study deformations of complex structures on Riemann surfaces, we also consider the Beltrami equation as a particular case of the Carleman–Bers–Vekua equation. We also discuss the algebraic formulation of the Riemann–Hilbert problem in the framework of the differential Galois theory, where this problem is known as the inverse problem and is interesting for us because of its constructive nature.

Main attention is paid to the numerical in variants of holomorphic vector bundles on the Riemann sphere defined by a Fuchsian system of Okubo type. In particular, we compute the Chern class of the canonical extension and in some cases find its splitting type.

Measurement of the abnormality degree in the biological tissue by the laser induced fluorescence, Laser Physics Letters 2005, vol. 3 (2), pp.89-90, IOP PublishingState Target Program

We have applied the Laser-Induced Fluorescence technique to thyroid tissues. A close correlation between spectral shapes and the degree of tissue abnormality have been found. In some cases fluorescence spectrum is formed by linear superposition of "healthy" and "pathological" basic spectral shapes. This allows to ca determine unambiguously the state of the tissue by means of any single spectral measurement.

The Riemann-Hilbert problem in loop spaces, Doklady Mathematics, November 2006, vol. 73(2), pp. 258-260, Pleiades PublishingState Target Program

The Generalized Linear Conjugation Problem (GLCP) functions with values in loop spaces with complex structures, which extends the range of Riemann-Hilbert Problems (RHP) generalizations are studied. RHP in the form of Linear-Conjugation Problem (LCP) for holographic functions are solved by considering GLCP, which is based on the existence of natural complex structure determined by Kalher metric. The results show that for any smooth loop in the loop group, the set of solutions to the loop group-GLCP has the same cardinality as the set of gauge equivalence classes. For any real-analytical knot and any real-analytic transversal vector field, there exists a holographic solid torus passing through the real-analytic knot at a certain velocity. Results also show that for any isolated singularity of a plane algebraic curve with connected link, the family of loops determines a holomorphic solid torus inside a sufficiently small sphere centered at the singularity.

Gates for quantum computing induced from monodromy operators, Physics of Particles and Nuclei Letters, 2007, vol. 4(2), pp. 173-175, Pleiades PublishingState Target Program

The monodromy approach to quantum computing is based on a holomorphic vector bundle with a meromorphic connection. The gates for computation are obtained from the monodromy matrices of the connection.

Quantum computing in exactly solvable models and geometric phases, Journal of Mathematical Sciences, 2008, vol. 153 (2), pp. 186-196, Springer Science and Business Media Deutschland GmbH State Target Program

A time-dependent periodic Hamiltonian admitting exact solutions is applied to construct a set of universal gates for quantum computation. The approach is based on transformation of soluble time-independent equations into time-dependent ones by employing a set of special time-dependent transformation operators. A class of periodic time-dependent Hamiltonians with cyclic solutions is constructed in a closed analytic form and the nonadiabatic geometric phase is determined in terms of the obtained solutions

Analytic methods in quantum computing, Journal of Mathematical Sciences, 2008, vol. 153 (2), pp. 70-119, Springer Science and Business Media Deutschland GmbH State Target Program

Here we consider a model of quantum computation, based on the monodromy representation of a Fuchsian system. The rôle of local and entangling operators in monodromic quantum computing is played by monodromy matrices of connections with logarithmic singularities acting on the fiber of a holomorphic vector bundle as on the space of qubits. The leading theme is the problem of constructing a set of universal gates as monodromy operators induced from a connection with logarithmic singularity. In the formal scheme developed by us, already known models — topological and holonomic — can be incorporated.

Cyclic Configurations of Spherical Quadrilaterals, Bull.Georgian. Nat. Acad. Sci. 2009, vol. 3, no. 2, pp. 19-22, Georgian National Academy of ScienceState Target Program

We investigate cyclic configurations and moduli spaces of spherical quadrilaterals. For nondegenerate quadrilateral linkage, we establish that cyclic configurations are critical points of the signed area function on moduli space and their number is determined by the topology of moduli space. We also find the maximal value of the signed area on moduli space.

Remarks on spherical linkages, Bull.Georgian. Nat. Acad. Sci. 2010, vol. 4, no. 2, pp. 8-12, Georgian National Academy of ScienceState Target Program

We present several results on moduli spaces of spherical geodesic linkages. It is established that the signed area function is generically a Morse function on the moduli space of a moderate spherical linkage and its critical points are given by cyclic configurations of the linkage. Next, we present a number of results on cyclic and tangential configurations of open spherical linkages. In particular, we give an explicit formula for the spherical area of a cyclic spherical quadrilateral in terms of the lengths of its sides. Moreover, we prove that the end-point map of an open moderate spherical linkage is a stable mapping from the moduli space to the ambient sphere.

On Equilibrium Points of Three Point Charges, Bulleten of the Georgian National Academy of Sciences, 2021, vol.15, N 3, pp. 7-13, Georgian National Academy of Sciences State Target Program

We present several generalizations of our recent results on the electrostatic interpretation of points in the plane with respect to a given non-degenerate triangle T. First, we extend the definition of the so-called stationary charges in such a way that their existence and uniqueness hold for all points in the complement of three straight lines defined by the sides of T. Next, we show that, for any point P outside of T, stationary charges cannot have the same sign, and describe possible combinations of signs. For a regular triangle T and point P outside of T, it is also shown that the stationary charges of P have exactly two saddle-points and this defines a differentiable involution in the complement of T. The main results are complemented by a few typical examples and several related conjectures.

Exactly solvable Hamiltonians in quantum computing, Proceedings of Sciences 2021, vol.394, (12 pages), Sissa MedialabGrant Project

In this paper, we investigate the problem of simulation of quantum-mechanical dynamical system with prescribed properties using of exactly solvable Hamiltonians. A method for solving timedependent matrix Schrödinger equations in an explicit analytical form will be developed. It is based on exactly solvable time-independent problems, a certain choice of the initial conditions, and special time-dependent gauge transformations converting time-independent problems to timedependent ones. An application of the exactly solvable time-dependent problems thus obtained to the construction of a universal set of gates for quantum computers is also presented.
